GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Performs responsible administrative work assisting internal and external customers with rental, birthday party, and special event requests and information. Administers all aspects of rental agreements. Performs related work as required.
This position will work at Green Ridge Recreation Center/Splash Valley Water Park. This position requires 20 hours a week and shifts may include days, evenings, nights, and/or weekends.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Informs facility staff of when rentals, birthday parties, and special events are occurring.
- Engages in conversation with rental, birthday party, and special events participants to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Handles cash, checks, and credit card transactions for rentals, birthday parties and special events.
- Works directly with the public in person and on the phone having good communication skills by providing information regarding services offered, assisting customers, sometimes dealing with difficult situations or people.
- Performs related administrative work including data entry, rental usage tracking, and record keeping. Reviews various reports and edits to ensure accuracy.
- Provides staff with updated product and service information regarding rentals, birthday parties, and special events.
- Performs room scheduling, room set ups, office supply inventory ordering and control, mailings, in addition to other clerical responsibilities.
- Assists with overseeing the revenue and expense budget for facility rentals.
- Assists in the evaluation of the rental staff training needs and providing the necessary training required to provide excellent customer service.
REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES
Education
Required: Graduation from high school or equivalent
Preferred: Associates degree or equivalent experience
Experience
Required: One or more years of customer service experience required (could be in a variety of settings)
Preferred: Three or more years of customer service experience. Sales experience i.e. retail or one on one direct selling experience.
License/Certification
Required: Valid Virginia driver’s license with good driving record. CPR, First Aid, and AED.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong ability to work with public in person and by phone.
- Ability to advise on and interpret policies in researching and resolving customer inquiries, requests and complaints.
- Good knowledge of office terminology, procedures, equipment technology.
- Knowledge of clerical methods used in office inventory control.
- Ability to maintain accounts involving mathematical computations.
- Ability to follow oral and written direction and work procedures.
- Ability to take initiative as well as follow-thru.
- Skill using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other computer software.
Additional Requirements
Subject to a complete criminal history and Child Protective Services background search with acceptable results. Must be able to perform the job as described in the Physical and Environmental Demands section of this job description. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and some holidays.
