Job duties:
- The Safety Practice Innovation Coordinator will assist with the development, and implementation of strategies and procedures to advance the practice of self-determination while balancing safety. The SPI Coordinator reviews and analyzes trends and data, to reduce the number of adults needing to be placed in facilities, and improve APS operations. Will work with APS staff and community partners to include assisting with identifying safe placement options.
- Track the decision of APS cases, including but not limited to the long-term resolution of cases, to identify trends, gaps, and needs for improvement in the process of working APS cases. Research trends that lead to positive results for adults upon case closure and recommend practices extrapolated from those trends statewide.
- Assist APS State Office, County and regional staff by exploring long-term solutions and assisting with difficult APS cases.
- Identify systemic gaps in services, resources, placements, housing, and safe options for adults in the APS program, to include assessing and working with the adult, and develop solutions to address those gaps.
- Research innovations in national Adult Protective Services trends in regard to safety and adult well-being and develop strategies for implementation. Work with State Office leadership and staff to develop strategies to improve APS performance & outcomes.
- Track, interpret, and analyze data for the APS program and develop strategies to address areas of need. Prepare and present reports based on data analysis, including identified issues and solutions, to state office, county and regional leadership.
- Develop and foster strong professional relationships with partners statewide to increase the pool of resources available to adults in the APS system to help the adults achieve a degree of safety and security.
- Will be required to perform Red Cross shelter/emergency response duties as directed.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of professional experience in social services programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management, or relevant program experience.
A Master’s Degree and two (2) year of professional experience in social services programs, correctional, education, business administration, general administrative management, or relevant program experience.
