The mission of the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is to work collaboratively toward the prevention of homelessness and the creation of lasting solutions for homeless and at-risk families, children, and individuals throughout Colorado. The Coalition advocates for and provides a continuum of housing and a variety of services to improve the health, well-being, and stability of those it serves.
The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless seeks a Representative Payee to serve as the financial representative for persons who have been deemed not fully capable of managing their own benefits to ensure all payee files are in compliance with Social Security Administration policies and requirements. This role is unique in that it intersects skills needed for both case management and money management through supporting CCH clients actively engaged with case management or other supportive services and plays a critical role in keeping clients housed through safeguarding and managing their money. This position also develops working relationships within and outside of the organization to ensure continuity of care for our payee clients. This position is located at 2100 Broadway, Denver, Colorado 80205and reports to the Community Resources and Payee Program Manager.

Essential Job Functions
- Reviews and understands criteria for representative payee services.
- Works with clients to create monthly budgets that address their basic needs.
- Ensures all payee files are managed in compliance with Social Security’s policy and procedure requirements for representative payee ships.
- Responsible for completing any necessary forms for Social Security.
- Responds to and/or files any mail received from Social Security.
- Reports any changes in client status to Social Security per SSA requirements.
- Advocates on the clients’ behalf if benefits should decrease or cease to continue.
- Works with the CCH accounting department to request client funds.
- Tracks client rents and bills to ensure payments are made on time and for the correct amounts.
- Consults regularly with client’s healthcare team and/or case management team to provide optimum coordination, communication, and continuity of services.
- Identifies clients who may be able to become his/her own payee and take the necessary steps to help client achieve financial independence.
- Provides services to clients in a trauma-informed, culturally competent manner.
- Completes all necessary documentation and electronic data entry requirements in HMIS and EHR in a timely and thorough manner and in compliance with all relevant HIPAA regulations.
- Returns all work-related emails and voicemails in a timely manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Summary
- College degree preferred; stronger preference given to relevant work experience.
- Previous work experience with homeless or underserved population preferred.
