Weyerhaeuser Raymond Lumber is in Raymond WA and has an opening for a journey level millwright with industrial experience. This is a bargaining unit position in the international Assn of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Woodworkers Lodge W130. The role requires strong mechanical and technical skills. Pay Range: $33.64 – $40.87 plus shift differential depending on experience and skills.
All candidates must be safety conscious, self-motivated, possess excellent communication skills, be experienced in working with other crafts, and have a desire to work in a market focused, team environment.
This is a full-time hourly position, reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader.
Key Functions:
The maintenance team is responsible for the repair and upkeep of the facility and all equipment. Millwrights must apply thorough and comprehensive knowledge of mechanical equipment, processes, and techniques to perform various tasks related to the industrial (journey level) millwright trade, such as:
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic/pneumatic systems, gears, reducers, bearings, sprockets, chains, belts, and valves.
- Cut, braze, weld, and fabricate necessary components according to prints and/or shop drawings.
- Apply preventive and predictive maintenance practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Assist electricians and other maintenance personnel in performing other tasks when necessary.
- Assist machine operators as necessary and may provide operator relief for operation of process equipment.
- Assist with clean-up mill wide.
- Be involved in safety and safety improvement efforts mill wide.
Qualifications
- Willing and able to work any shift, including weekends.
- Willing and able to work at heights, climbing stairs and ladders.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in an environment containing wood dust in hot or cold environments.
- Able to perform the essential functions of the position.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Welding, fabrication, general machine assembly and machine alignment experience.
- Experience in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints preferred.
- Must be able to flow to work across job boundaries.
- Must demonstrate willingness and ability to learn new jobs and skills.
- Must have excellent listening and communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate open, honest, and regular exchange of information and treat all employees with respect and dignity.
- Must be collaborative; puts team’s needs ahead of individual interests and works to develop trust and respect.
- Take initiative to identify and solve issues and accepts personal accountability for team’s plan and results.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience required.
Successful candidates must be willing to work any shift. These positions require the willingness and ability to work at heights as well as climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds and work in an environment containing wood dust and extreme heat or cold. You must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position.
Compensation: Your wages and benefits are set by the labor agreement between Weyerhaeuser and the union representing employees at this work site. We are targeting a pay range of $33.64 – $40.87/hour based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience.
