DESCRIPTION

The data analyst will perform complex statistical analysis using software packages like SAS and R on data sets within the realm of hemostasis and thrombosis. Involves gathering, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of research data. Designs and conducts research including selecting data samples, compiling data, developing research instruments, analyzing collected information according to established statistical methods, and developing recommendations based on research findings. Prepares reports, charts, tables, and other visual aids to interpret and communicate data and present results. The incumbent will independently perform complex statistical computations, plan, write, and contribute to manuscript development for studies requiring complex statistical methodology; provide consultation regarding analytical approach for studies of complexity and scope, and provide guidance, training and mentorship to residents, fellows and others on moderate to complex statistical issues.

Uses skills as a seasoned research professional with a full understanding of in-depth statistical analyses and programming techniques designed to support research projects of broad scope and complexity. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. May function as a team lead.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training.
  • Experience and proven knowledge of research function.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SAS and R.
  • Experience writing scientific manuscripts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • PhD in statistics, biostatistics or epidemiology.
  • Experience in an academic or academic healthcare setting.
  • Mentorship and training experience.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with research in field of hemostasis and thrombosis.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $71,000 – $160,000 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $34.00 – $76.63

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
