Position Overview
Navistar’s Commerce City, Colorado R&D vehicle testing facility is currently seeking a Research & Development Vehicle Test Site Manager.
The Research & Development Vehicle Test Site Manager will be the primary resource for leading and managing the day-to-day operations for the facility.
- This position will work directly with the appropriate disciplines within the facility to provide operational guidance and solutions in several key areas, i.e. Budget, capital, facilities, management of resources, staffing, materials and coordination of fleet assets and scheduling.
- This role will frequently interact with supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company.
- They will most often lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
- Address issues which impact beyond own team/group based on knowledge of related disciplines.
- In rare instances, this manager may be responsible for a functional area only without direct employee management; functional area responsibility includes fiscal accountability or budgetary control.
The Research & Development Vehicle Test Site Manager will report to the Research and Development Operations Chief. This position will oversee between 8-10 direct employees and 20-30 contract commercial drivers.
Responsibilities
- Directs the development and implementation of activities in a field test environment to meet R&D milestones goals, quality and cost objectives
- Prioritizes schedules based on program directives, equipment efficiency, and materials supply
- Plans and administers procedures and budgets
- Makes budgetary recommendations and may control capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor
- Develops schedules and workforce requirements for assigned areas
- Develops team and team members for flexibility and efficiency of operation
- Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 8 years of operations management experience
- At least 2 years of management experience
OR
- Master’s degree
- At least 6 years of operations management experience
- At least 2 years of management experience
OR
- At least 10 years of operations management experience
- At least 2 years of management experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary range for this role is $100 – 135K a year.
