Research Engineer, Cancer Early Detection

The OHSU Brenden Colson Center for Pancreatic Care, Knight Cancer Institute, and departments of Surgery, Gastroenterology and Radiology have recently joined a national consortium of researchers and clinicians focused on the early detection of pancreatic cancer in patients who have high risk for developing it in their future.

We are seeking a skilled data or research engineer to perform data analytics, machine/deep learning, computer vision and computational modeling for our project. This position will be part of an interdisciplinary technical team, collaborating with cancer biologists, clinicians, oncologists, radiologists, imaging specialists, machine learning researchers and data scientists.

This person will create or implement algorithms and software in machine/deep learning for quantitative image analysis for characterization, quantification, and analysis of images, feature extraction and dimensionality reduction, using image markers and other biomarkers to characterize cancer for diagnosis and predictions, analysis of multimodal longitudinal data for change detection, and dynamic modeling. They will have the opportunity to leverage modern computing clusters with hundreds of GPU’s and a large cluster of DGX nodes. Responsibilities will also include data management and protection along with data wrangling. This is a unique opportunity to work and collaborate with a diverse team to build a new generation of artificial intelligence in cancer detection.
