The Daniels College of Business is committed to advancing academic business research to generate new knowledge about organizations and markets that provide impactful solutions for the public good. The Research Manager will provide administrative support to the Associate Dean for Research and work as part of a team to elevate the impact and reach of research at Daniels. This position will coordinate research projects, curate a database of faculty, staff and student expertise, plan and execute research-related events, identify internal and external funding sources, and promote research within Daniels and DU as well as to the wider community.
Position Summary
This position has the primary responsibility for supporting the research efforts of Daniels faculty and students. The Research Manager will provide administrative support to the Associate Dean for Research and work as part of a team to elevate the impact and reach of research at Daniels through establishing and maintaining a database of subject matter experts and ongoing research, identifying internal and external funding opportunities, coordinating research projects using Daniels research resources, planning and executing research-related professional development events, workshops and conferences. This position will serve as a point person for information regarding faculty expertise and internal and external research resources. The successful candidate will bring to DU a strong background or interest in research administration, including a broad knowledge of business and/or scientific research. This ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills, a collaborative style, and experience with faculty, staff, and students in achieving their research goals.
Essential Functions
- Develop and maintain database of faculty and PhD student expertise, publications, publicity, and other accomplishments.
- Identify internal and external sources of funding for Daniels’ faculty conducting research in specific areas.
- Maintain and update content related to faculty research and work with Daniels’ Office of Communications and Marketing (OCM),
- Corporate Partners, and Executive Education to promote faculty research, events and accomplishments and highlight areas of expertise for corporate partnerships and executive education.
- Coordinate research symposiums, roundtables and workshops with faculty, students and guests.
- Support assessment of current research standards internal to Daniels and help with benchmarking against peer and aspirational schools.
- Work with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to advance professional development of faculty as it relates to research publication, promotion, and funding.
- Must have the ability to work as a team member, be very detail-oriented, and have the personality that can adapt to a stressful work environment.
- Assist in coordinating research projects for faculty, students and staff executed through Daniels’ research centers.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least two (2) years of experience in administrative or research-related work that involves professional written and verbal communications, as well as a background in gathering, organizing, reviewing and reporting complex information
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in business or scientific research discipline.
- Experience writing and/or processing grants at local (e.g., Denver), state (e.g., CO) or national level (e.g., US).
- Direct IRB research or regulatory experience involving participation in or the review of social, behavioral, and educational research.
- Experience working in a university research or administration office with electronic submission systems; ability to learn and master specialized software (e.g., SONA, Salesforce).
- Knowledge and practical application of research ethical principles and federal regulatory requirements.
Working Environment

3. Noise level is quiet to moderate.
Physical Activities
1. Ability to sit in front of a computer for an extended period of time.
2. Occasionally required to move about the office/campus with the capability of transporting objects up to 20 lbs.

This is a part-time position, exact schedule to be determined with supervisor.

Hourly Range:
The hourly range for the position is $28.00 – $31.70
