The Seller External Relations (SER) team is responsible for ensuring that external perception mirrors the reality that Amazon’s stores are a great place for independent sellers to build and maintain thriving businesses. We foster authentic relationships with our selling partners and work towards their continued success. We create content and tools that demonstrate and celebrate the positive experiences of independent sellers in Amazon’s store to other sellers, consumers, and influentials (i.e., media and policymakers). Our research charter focuses on generating insights for driving success of small businesses, understanding what matters to our audiences, what misperceptions exist among them and what drives those misperceptions. We also build evergreen mechanisms to measure and track key perceptions among our key audiences.
We are looking for an individual with a strong market research background and a passion for solving unique problems to help us drive world class market research. Our ideal candidate is someone who is curious and customer obsessed, and loves solving complex problems. You enjoy building things from scratch, are comfortable with change and ambiguity, and relish the chance to solve hard problems in short order. You recognize that the true measure of success of your work is based on the business impact your findings have over time.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
• Lead design and execution of primary research studies (leveraging both qualitative and quantitative methods) to generate actionable insights and recommendations for stakeholder teams
• Lead foundational research to help understand how to influence and move the needle on perception metrics among influentials
• Lead research and analysis that helps measure the impact of programs and initiatives on perception metrics among influentials
• Apply sound research and business acumen to help the business not just solve complex questions but help it look around corners.
• Design scalable and nimble mechanisms that help scale quantitative and qualitative research solutions, tools and processes
• Build and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external agency partners

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
– 8+ years conducting quantitative and qualitative research end to end (identifying appropriate research methods, designing, executing, analyzing, and drafting actionable recommendations from primary research)
– Expertise in qualitative research methods (ethnographies, in-depth interviews, focus groups, diary studies) and quantitative research methods (e.g. factor analysis, regression analysis, clustering) & mixed method studies (e.g. segmentation)
– Experience using statistical software like SPSS/SAS or similar
– Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in business, marketing, statistics or related field
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– US and international work experience
– Master’s degree or higher
– Exceptional written and oral communication abilities

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $63,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $151,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
