Job Overview
LPL Financial is hiring a Political Action Committee (PAC) and Operations Manager, Government Relations. This person could be based in Boston, MA or Washington, DC. The candidate must be detail-oriented, enthusiastic, well-organized, possess strong time management and communication skills, and maintain the ability and proper judgment to responsibly and securely manage a strong and growing PAC.
This individual will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Government Relations, and will work closely with members of the LPL Government Relations team, other business units, the LPL PAC Board and the Government Relations Advisor Council to provide operational, project and event strategy management, as described below. Established in 2010, the LPL PAC consists of nearly 800 members who support LPL’s federal advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the strategy and operations associated with growing the federal political action committee (LPL PAC).
- Create and maintain relationships with existing and prospective PAC members by developing and executing an effective fundraising and communications strategy, including direct solicitation of LPL PAC funds from eligible PAC prospects.
- Responsible for compliance and budget management for the LPL PAC.
- Manage the LPL PAC data base, reporting, and Government Relations website.
- Responsible for recapturing lagging donors and e-contributors on a monthly basis.
- Oversee operations and strategy, including PAC promotion opportunities, for the LPL PAC Board and Government Relations Advisor Council in partnership with the chair of the PAC Board, GR Advisor Council and head of Government Relations.
- Develop strategy and execution for all events for the Government Relations team including, but not limited to, LPL conferences, Washington DC fly-in and virtual and in-person events for advisors and home office employees.
- Work in partnership with the policy team to support the LPL 50 State Network, a grassroots organization of LPL financial professionals.
- Supervise relationships with fundraising and compliance vendors.
- Manage additional Government Relations team operational items such as, but not limited to, weekly team meetings and team engagement.
- Oversee federal lobbying compliance reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4 + years of professional political/congressional experience
- Familiar with Federal election campaign laws
- Proficient in MS Office Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and database management software a strong plus.
- Ability to travel as necessary
Preferences
- Must be resourceful and customer service-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills
- Experience with Aristotle, or other similar fundraising platforms
- Knowledge of FEC regulations
Pay Range:
$109,320-$163,980/year
The salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including the applicant’s skill, experience, and work location.
