LLM in Energy – Global Climate Justice Fellowship

Global Climate Justice Fellowship

LLM in Energy

The Institute for Energy and the Environment (IEE) at Vermont Law School offers a two-year Global Energy Fellowship that we anticipate will become available in August 2023. The fellowship combines the opportunity to obtain a LLM degree in energy law from one of the nation’s leading energy and environmental law programs with the opportunity to gain practical energy law experience on a variety of policy coordination, research, and educational outreach projects. The fellowship includes a full tuition waiver and a salary stipend of up to $35,000, which may be available for the selected LLM fellow depending on available funding.

The Global Climate Justice Fellow will work half-time at the Institute for Energy and the Environment leading a team of graduate students researching issues related to a global just transition of our energy systems. The research’s regional focus will be just transition issues in China, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The fellow will also pursue the LLM in Energy Law half-time and must have completed either an LLB or JD at a U.S. or international institution. Applicants with interest and experience in global justice energy transition issues are strongly encouraged to apply, particularly those with experience with Chinese, Latin American, and Caribbean energy law and policy.
