Retail and Merchandising Assistant
This position offices in-person.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Retail and Merchandising Assistant strengthens school spirit and community connections by supporting school store-related functions. This position works hand in hand with the Retail and Merchandising Coordinator to help manage the merchandise that is sold through the various Eagles Nest retail store channels (storefront, online store, and mobile trailer) and works with parent volunteers to maintain store operations. A focus on excellent customer service is a must. On occasion, evening work is required to support signature school events.

Support Store Operations and Events
- Maintain regular retail store hours and support special hours during key activities and signature events throughout the school year
- Assist with intake and organization of merchandise,
- Follow inventory processes, ensuring that all items are properly accounted for in the online inventory system and accurately ticketed
- Assist with developing space-efficient and inviting merchandise displays and keep them stocked and organized
- Identify and help train parent volunteers to participate in-store operations, such as maintaining inventory, replenishing displays, filling online orders and serving customers during weekly store hours
- Assist with the periodic review of inventory to identify opportunities for improved selection and promotion of merchandise
- Assists with online store order fulfillment

- Build credibility within and beyond the Marketing and Communications team, evidenced by collaboration with various departments
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a relevant field is preferred, but not required
- 1-3 years in retail sales preferred, but not required
- Previous Eagles Nest volunteer experience helpful, but not required
- Proficiency with Mac computers, Microsoft Office, Google Suite (mail, docs, drive, calendar), internet purchases and customer database systems
- Familiarity with point-of-sale and online eCommerce systems such as Shopify
- Demonstrated ability to learn new software programs
- Ability to work occasional evening hours in support of school events is required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The same basic physical demands described here are the same for all employees to successfully perform the essential functions of their jobs. Employees must periodically lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and could occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral/depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics are varied and include classroom, office, and outdoor events while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is also varied.
POSITION TYPE: A: Student-facing position. Traditional school calendar. August – May. This position offices in-person.
HOURS PER WEEK: Part-Time, Non-Exempt. (15-20 hours per week) Occasional evening and weekend work required as needed.
SUPERVISOR: Retail and Merchandising Coordinator
PAY RANGE: $18-$20/HR
START DATE: August 1, 2023
