Job Description

Summary

The Retail Floorset Planner plays an instrumental role in business processes by working with VM’s, buyers and store ops teams to develop versioned merchandise planograms based on store clustering, layout, and size. They will be responsible for managing planogram version/store combinations, store planogram assignments, and providing reporting and data as needed. The Retail Floorset Planner will participate in the seasonal planning process by developing example planograms and store layouts. The Retail Floorset Planner will also be accountable for maintaining the integrity of planograms for assigned locations, ensuring the database is current with the most updated versions, and providing clear, precise direction for the implementation of planograms in the store(s).

The budgeted salary range for this position is $55,696 – $77,974. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain accurate planograms with up-to-date merchandise data in the Space Planning system for all assigned store/planogram combinations for analysis of category strategies, line reviews, and any other reviews
  • Layout new/remodel stores to support company growth initiatives
  • Coordinate and participate in category strategies and line review sessions with Customer Representatives and the respective divisional merchandise managers by using analytics to guide the most productive presentation of SKUs, while balancing the need for visually impactful displays while honoring the financial needs of efficient inventory management
  • Create planograms and store layouts to support seasonal merchandise plans
  • Using space planning software (Mock shop), create and maintain shelf labels for use in the store(s)
  • Work collaboratively with buyers and VM’s to coordinate data flow into and out of the planogram system during merchandise review
  • Apply data analysis to provide recommendations on placement and space allocation of merchandise to ensure that planograms support the goals of the business
  • Maintain archives of category strategies and line reviews, as well as data provided by vendors for category strategies
  • Responsible for merchandise layout and design of new and remodel stores to help support company growth goals
  • Work with business partners to support company goals, store brand vision, and category strategies
  • Provide information and report to buyers, VM’s and management as needed
  • Develop and produce Store Planning conceptual plans, floor plans and elevations and written communication for each retail space
  • Make scope of work decisions for each project based on location specific requirements and budget guidelines. Develop and maintain VM guidelines. Partner with supervisor for non-prototypical situations
  • Understand all planning processes & VM standards. Stay up to date on the latest Prototype, Innovation & Merchandising initiatives and ensure all documents are in compliance
  • Oversee each project from inception to completion; Maintain quality control and communication through all phases of the project. Trouble-shoot & respond swiftly to change in products, and manage communication as needed
  • Plan to be participating during floor-sets at least 4 times a year for seasonal campaigns, store openings and experience events
  • Manage multiple projects at once & prioritize workload effectively
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years prior experience in space planning or floor planning software preferred
  • Retail merchandising work experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Knowledge of store-level merchandising, retail analytical skills, and accurate writing/editing/proofreading abilities are desirable
  • Must be comfortable with PC/ Windows systems

Supervision given and received
Supervision given: Works under general supervision of Director of Merchandising, Rental Retail. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor’s directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.
Supervision received: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements
No adverse or hazardous conditions
Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
