Position Description
The Retail Sales Lead for Edina Liquor is responsible for the opening/closing of the liquor store as needed by management. This position works under the direction of the liquor store manager and assistant manager and will act in a limited supervisory role in the absence of other store leaders. The Sales Lead will lead by example and display the ability to deliver on all Edina Liquor Service standards and will provide in the moment coaching to other store associates as needed. Work includes working collaboratively with other team members, merchandising, performing a variety of cash & inventory control procedures, receiving deliveries, operating in compliance with MN State liquor laws and regulations and other related operational duties.

This is a part-time position will work 30-39 hours per week and will work a variety of shifts to include day, evening, weekends and holidays.
Essential Functions

  • The duties of a retail sales lead include:
  1. Ensures conformance of store operations to all applicable laws and regulations.
  2. Fosters customer satisfaction by ensuring that customers’ requests and complaints are handled in a friendly, timely & competent manner.
  3. Provides insights to Store leadership on specific areas of ownership within the store as assigned by store manager such as category management, merchandising, rewards program success.
  4. Enters invoices, transfers, adjustments and other transactions into the retail point of sale system.
  5. Providing live coaching observations with all staff and ensures Edina Liquor service standards are being met consistently with all staff.
  6. Assists in the preparation of bi-monthly business reviews with entire staff.
  7. Assists with Store level objectives and initiatives including Merchandising, Tasting Programs, or Inventory management.
  8. Encourages employee growth, performance, and development by providing and encouraging learning opportunities.
  9. Operates in a limited Supervisory role in absence of other store leaders by assisting with day-to-day operations of the liquor stores, including stocking and storing of merchandise; displaying of merchandise; maintaining overall appearance of the store; and ringing sales, customer service and cash handling;
  10. Communicates & collaborates with peers across the enterprise on best practices, challenges & initiatives.
  11. Performs retail and customer service activities as needed.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned by Store Manager, Assistant General Manager or General Manager of liquor operations.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED and valid driver’s license.

Desired Qualifications:Previous liquor store or retail experience, knowledge of beer, wine and spirits and POS and Business software (Microsoft 360, Outlook, Adobe) preferred.

Supplemental Information
Various Shifts include:

Mid Shift:
A shift beginning after the store opens and extending to at least 7:00pm but not past 8:00pm Mon-Sat.
Closing Shift:
A shift where the employee is scheduled past retail operating hours to ensure closing procedures are complete and the store meets visual standards for opening the next day. Most closing shifts are scheduled 30 min past retail operating hours for the specific day.
Delivery Intake Shift Definition:
A shift where the employee is scheduled to assist with vendor delivery coming into an Edina Liquor location. These shifts start as early as 6:30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursdays and can vary by location.
