Description

The RF Test Tuner Technician performs the setup and calibration of a network analyzer. Tuner is responsible for tuning and testing of microwave filters with built using a variety of techniques including: Ceramic, lumped element, cavity, and combine.

Key Responsibilities

  • A working understanding of the RF and DC testing that is completed in support of production hardware.
  • A working understanding of proper tuning techniques; including tuning with tabs and lumped elements in high power RF amplifiers with limited supervision.
  • A working understanding of troubleshooting techniques and the common problems seen in the production hardware.
  • A working understanding of the use and proper calibration of the test equipment that is used in support of testing high power RF amplifiers, including but not limited to: Vector Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters and Signal Generators, with limited supervision
  • Be able to clearly communicate and interact with the responsible engineers and the necessary production and manufacturing personnel to resolve production related issues within the program.
  • Understand the program hardware flow (steps) and role within that flow to better coordinate the overall program test effort with the scheduled time allotment.
  • Ensure all program documentation and test data records are complete and accurate, and provided on a timely basis for review.
  • Ensure the test tasks assigned are done in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Maintain close security and protect the company’s assets from damage, including test equipment and tools.
  • Ensure that the quality control functions are properly performed such as Used-On Log and equipment calibration.
  • Ensure personnel safety procedures are followed at all times and/or highlight and raise concern to the appropriate personnel if safety hazards are found.
  • Ensure company compliance in accordance with AS9100.
  • Follow customer specification based on traveler.
  • Tune and test component for lumped element, ceramic, and cavity filters to specification.

  • Temperature cycle chamber per customer requirements.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates degree or technical school preferred.
  • 3 + years of experience in the RF field and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong communication and verbal skills are essential.
  • Must be able to operate basic computer software, equipment, and keyboard.
  • Ability to understand written or oral instructions.

One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting hourly pay for this role is targeted to be between $28.00 to $30.00.
