CAROUSEL OPERATION SCHEDULE
Work schedule varies to include weekdays, weeknights, weekends and holidays as needed. The carousel is expected to be open Fri, Sat, and Sun 10am-2pm, with possible extension of hours in the future.
GENERAL DEFINITION OF WORK:
Performs responsible unskilled work in the operation and care of a Carousel ride Work is performed under regular supervision
TYPICAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the daily operations of carousel;
Provides quality customer service;
Perform necessary daily inspections of rides;
Keep daily records as required;
Maintain cleanliness of ride interior and exterior;
Provide safe and friendly customer service;
Must be able to effectively communicate information to the Public.
RELATED TASKS:
Assists with the set up and breakdown of events and meeting rooms;
Assists with Special Events
Perform other duties within the scope of position as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Service-oriented individual with a friendly, helpful attitude; Capable of functioning in a fast-paced atmosphere; ability to communicate with the public in a courteous and professional manner; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates; ability to follow written and oral directions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and at least one (1) year of customer service experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to life and carry articles weighing up to 25 lbs., and push articles weighing up to 100 lbs. Exposure to extreme temperatures, insects, noise, dust, heights, dark and confined spaces. Must be able to stand and walk for up to six (6) hours at a time.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: To be eligible to receive Paid Leave and to contribute to the 457 Deferred Compensation Plan, a part-time employee must have worked at least 1,040 hours in the prior fiscal year
PAID LEAVE: Employees who work a minimum of 1,040 hours per fiscal year will receive twelve (12) hours of Paid Leave on October 1st. This Paid Leave shall be used no later than September 30th of that fiscal year or it will be forfeited. These hours may not accumulate and may only be granted with the approval of the employee’s supervisor. This paid leave has no cash value at separation of employment.
MISSION SQUARE 457 DEFERRED COMPENSATION PLAN: Employees who work a minimum of 1,040 hours per fiscal year will be allowed to participate in the 457 Deferred Compensation Plan. The City will not provide any matching funds.
