The Project Lead will be part of the CAO’s Global Business Risk and Controls organization. The team is responsible for delivering regulatory transformational change to Citibank, focused primarily on driving execution on an initiative aimed at uplifting program and project management holistically across the bank.
The group is working extensively across all Lines of Business to design, develop and implement the vision for a defined target state for more robust program and project management across Citibank. The VP will be responsible for helping drive the execution of the strategy to ensure the goals and objectives are successfully completed. The VP will be charged with helping manage the overall program delivery, including adhering to established central Transformation Office standards, and providing central reporting for Citi’s regulatory remediation programs. This position will work to identify and manage dependencies within the program and will help provide transparency to senior Citi stakeholders on program status. In addition to the overall program level responsibilities, this role will be expected to help drive work efforts related to one or more of the supporting projects within the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with the Initiative Director and Senior VPs to:
- Support execution plans to meet critical deliverables critical to the regulatory transformation
- Manage and monitor the performance of multiple programs of work and collaborate with the Initiative Director and Senior VPs to ensure program scope definition is in alignment to business goals
- Ensure consistent implementation of common PMO standards, reporting, and closure processes
- Provide on-the-ground support to help execute the planning, directing and coordination of day-to-day activities within the Transformation program
- Manage and prioritize projects based on business needs and identify opportunities to improve efficiencies and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure all stakeholders are identified and included in scope definition activities
- Develop deep understanding of the program schedule and key milestones/deliverables/activities
- Work effectively with Internal Audit, Compliance and Risk Management who will provide independent validation of the artifacts and deliverables required to support related testing / validation activities
- Monitor and track program execution and escalate program risks impacting project delivery to the Initiative Director, Senior VPs and executive leadership/ stakeholders; ensure mitigation strategies are developed and executed when necessary
- Drive adherence to processes, procedures, methods, and standards for program delivery
- Lead the identification and drive resolution of issues
- Collaborate with Initiative Director and Senior VPs to action deliverables from reviews of the Program’s defined scope, target state, and success criteria to ensure it fully addresses the letter & spirit of regulatory feedback, broader supervisory expectations and underlying issues and root causes
Qualifications
- 6+ years experience
- Demonstrates consistent track record of having worked as a Program or Project Manager, or working on large, strategic cross-functional projects
- Strong proficiency in MS Project, MS Excel, JIRA, and SharePoint
- Proficiency in PTS 2.0 (Citi’s Project Management application) & iCAPS (Citi’s Risk and Control application) a plus
- Previous program/project management, consulting or technology experience preferred with the ability to create and manage large and complex projects using MS Project
- Specific subject matter expertise regarding transformation and program management disciplines and a strong business understanding of the products and services Citi offers
- General understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for large complex financial institutions
- Track record of managing internal relationships and demonstrated experience in leading sustained change and change management efforts
- Experience in partnering closely with members of the 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defense
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively problem solve
- Ability to plan, develop, and lead initiatives
- Well-developed listening skills and a strong ability to engage at the senior management level
- Articulate and effective verbal and written communicator
- Strong interpersonal skills, with evidence of working in collaboration across large organizations, including a proactive and ‘no surprises’ approach in communicating issues/requests
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in driving positive and sustained change
- PMP qualification is a plus

- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Master’s degree
