Framatome is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Intern for our Mill Ridge Road office in Lynchburg, Virginia. Framatome is looking for an engineering intern that is self-motivated and has a passion for problem solving. The selected candidate will be supporting Framatome’s Product and Innovation team in the development of new products. Tasks will include design engineering, prototyping, and testing of developed new tooling which will support the implementation of new Framatome products.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- With oversight, perform engineering design activities, including CAD modeling of tools and tool assemblies
- Support the overall development team with design integration of various tools and equipment
- Support in the physical prototyping and testing of designed tools and equipment
- Research and assess relevant codes and standards and incorporate within the design efforts

Required Experience
All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for this opportunity:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering at an accredited university

- Strong technical problem-solving abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
The following may be used to differentiate candidates who apply for this position:
- Previous internship/co-op experience in field of study
- Preferred to have previous experience with mechanical, electrical, control designs.
- Proficient with CAD software (SOLIDWorks, etc.)
- Knowledgeable in mechanical/electrical design
Our total rewards package
The range of base salary for the position is between $19 – $23 per hour, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
