Rotating Scale Clerk
Pay Range: $23.86 to $29.43/hour

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Scale Clerk to travel between our local mining and quarry operations. This position is responsible for: weighing/ticketing customer trucks, assisting with administrative tasks, and completing purchase orders.
Essential Functions
- Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta’s Guardian Angel culture
- Operate scale house computers to obtain weight information
- Issue weight/product tickets
- Schedule and direct trucks
- Collaborate with the sales department and dispatch to develop understanding of business needs
- Communicate with customers/vendors to exchange information about products, materials, and services
- Answer incoming calls and emails
- Manage daily inventory records
- Identify and research problematic tickets and document findings
- Address customer concerns with the management team
- Maintain, monitor, and clean work areas
- Assist plant manager and office staff as required
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position and will require 40+ hours per week with occasional travel to other Martin Marietta sites.
Preferred Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Administrative experience required
- Making and completing purchase orders
- Customer service experience
- Previous scale operator experiences preferred
- Previous accounts payable or receivable experience
- Proficient within Microsoft Outlook programs
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of MSHA regulations
- Effective verbal communication
- Knowledge of heavy mobile equipment and tools including their design, use, and maintenance
Physical Abilities
- This job operates 80-90% of the time in an office environment and 10-20% of the time outdoors.
- Employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
