Position Overview

Under general supervision, this non-exempt position is responsible for facilitating the eligibility and access to dental care for primary care and dental patients, while assisting Ryan White (RW) patients managed dental care. Reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Key responsibilities include:

Provides necessary information to confirm Ryan White eligibility using the Electronic Health Record system as well as CareWare software; acts as a client advocate and maintain an open line of communication for patients and their caregivers and to watch over system efficiencies and protocols.

Assists the patient in collecting and gathering required information for the Ryan White review process during the six-month eligibility window; tracks patient treatment plans throughout the process; assists in managing patient treatment plans with the goal of completing treatment.

Collects and maintains accurate Ryan White eligibility tracking data as well as other reporting data; completes pre-appointment assessments for scheduled RW patients; complies with follow-up and reassessment policies to monitor client status.

Provides the patient with a treatment plan and monitors the results; provides daily reports, as needed, of the activities relating to the position; provides referral assistance for Ryan White clients who maybe potential Medicaid patients, identifying the type of services needed, and connecting the clients with the appropriate agencies.

Performs administrative support work such as word processing, creating spreadsheets, data entry and retrieval; orders, monitors and distributes program supplies/resources; and other information to ensure accuracy and conformance to established procedures and policies; and counsels patients regarding patient responsibilities and rights; adheres to patient confidentiality guidelines.

Collects billing and financial data as it pertains to Ryan White; makes the necessary copies, put together in an excel spreadsheet the invoice to include, but not limited to, monthly billing invoices, required payroll components, depreciation, and dental payor mix; provides the monthly and quarterly audit reports; and responds to any billing inquiries.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Associate degree in a healthcare or a related field and a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a caseworker, case manager, intake specialist, dental auxiliary, project management or related work experience with long-term care client population, preferable with Medicaid related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requires an acceptable background check to include state and local criminal check; satisfactory results from a pre-employment medical evaluation and substance abuse testing and is subject to random alcohol and controlled substance testing.
