Job Purpose Summary:
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Director is the leader of the EHS team at the Adams Group, Inc, reporting directly to the Group Resource Manager. The EHS Director is responsible for the Environmental, Health, and Safety programs for several businesses: Adams Trucking (ATI), Adams Grain Company (AGC), and Adams Vegetable Oils (AVO). The EHS Director is a key leader in charge of regulatory compliance and direction setting to achieve company goals.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Manages, leads, and develops members of the EHS team, including conducting annual reviews, performance management, and supporting certification in the safety field
- Manages relationships with EHS regulators
- Manages relationship between the EHS Department and key internal stakeholders, including regular meetings between operations and leadership
- Manages relationship with outside EHS consultants
- Manages EHS policies and documentation
- Maintains current EHS programs, including requirements such as drills, training, and annual reviews
- Creates and implements monthly safety trainings
- Leads, supports, and validates incident investigations and recaps with assistance from the Safety Specialists
- Supports Safety Committees
- Develops and reports on annual budgets for the EHS Department
- Manages workers compensation and return to work programs
- Leads response to injuries, ensuring the injured party receives a high level of attention and care
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- OSHA 500, ASP or CSP designation preferred.
- In depth technical knowledge of Cal OSHA, federal, state, and local regulatory standards, and ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective practices.
- Must be an effective communicator, generating professional written material and delivering effective verbal presentations. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
Position Requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be proficient in reading, speaking and writing in English for the purpose of record keeping, safety and quality training processes.
- Available to work overtime including some weekends
- Willing to work in any of our operating locations (Arbuckle and Woodland)
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
