Summary:
NOTE: ONLY CONSIDERING CANDIDATES WITH CONTRACT FURNITURE INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE.
The individual will be responsible to capture and process sales for the company’s existing accounts. The role will be a liaison between Sales, Customer Service, Project Management, and Operations. All duties derive from the primary focus of effectively coordinating, initiating and assisting in the Sales process to meet sales goals and customer expectation levels while maintaining departmental and company compliance of processes and procedures to maximize efficiencies and profitability.
Such duties will include helping identifying, contacting, qualifying and closing of sales opportunities of new clients and existing customers. This salesperson will need to complete consistent and timely submission of administrative paperwork in support of the sales process, personal involvement when required in the installation, project management and collection processes. The salesperson is expected to meet or exceed quarterly sales objectives.
*In the event the Account Manager possesses relevant and qualified Design skills and experience for the account business (preferred), this role will also include limited or full design responsibilities based on the project size, scope and volume.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
– Identifying, contacting, qualifying, and developing sales leads and processing new business within established, existing accounts.
– Attending customer meetings and keeping notes, conveying new information to other team members (Operations, Client Support Specialists, Design, Project Management, etc.)
– Initiate project folders.
– Contact vendors for samples, demos, discounts, and other materials and information.
– Keep project files organized.
– Assist with resolution of punch lists, open issues, post-installation follow-up.
– Train on specific products to gain proper knowledge and understanding of function and positioning for sale.
– Field measuring project areas and in turn updating or creating building shell backgrounds.
– Provide inventory verification of client’s existing furniture and equipment.
– Research and make recommendations for product solutions and finish schemes. Prepare presentation boards.
– Responsible for securing approvals from client for all project documents.
– Participation in on-going learning opportunities through company provided product and software training, as well as capitalizing on the exposure of larger mentored projects to continue increasing proficiency.
– Interacting with Sales Management on an as needed basis to assure personal development, business development and customer service levels.
– Maintaining consistently high levels of Customer Satisfaction.
– Understanding the costs of doing business and selling Tangram products and services at consistently high margins.
– Understanding and enforcing Tangram’s Terms & Conditions of Sale.
– Paying attention to details, thereby minimizing mistakes and wasted effort.
– Maintaining consistently high levels of Customer Satisfaction.
– Effectively utilize time management skills for developing support staff efficiencies.
DESIGN RELATED DUTIES (for candidates with qualified Design skills):
– On moderate-scale projects, prepare workstation typicals, block plans, furniture space plans, specifications and installation plans under direction of tenured Designer using AutoCAD and CET.
– Coordinate design schematics for client.
– Estimate task hours, determine project scope, prepare work authorizations, and fees for all project work responsible for. – Review with Team Leader, Design Manager, Project Manager, and Account manager as necessary.
– Track and monitor hours and activities on assigned projects to ensure project schedule is attained within established fee proposed. Ensure change orders, addendum’s, etc., are presented and approved as scope changes prior to exceeding approved fee proposed.
– Audit own project work prior to turning over to another Intermediate or Senior Designer. As needed provide audits for other Designers.
– Responsible for overall success of design project, including primary responsibility for verbal and written communication to client and Tangram representatives.
– Participate with Sales Representatives and Sales Management in business development activities to position design services and secure product orders.
– Prepare weekly staffing and timesheets, monthly expenses, biweekly payroll sheet and submit to the Design Manager for approval per the established schedule.
– May be required to review design-billing reports and ensure appropriate invoicing information is included.
– Establishing and achieving personal goals and objectives that support the Design Department’s goals and objectives.
– Participation in on-going learning opportunities through company provided product and software training, as well as capitalizing on the exposure of larger mentored projects to continue increasing proficiency.
– Assist Design Team Leader and Manager with special projects: i.e. job costing, work process improvement and documentation, and standards manuals.
$65,000 – $80,000 a year
Compensation will be a base salary + commissions.
