Overview

The Sales and Marketing Manager is responsible for planning and implementing sales and marketing strategies, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

The Federal Way Performing Arts & Event Center represents a new caliber of event space in South King County.

Our Mission is to advance, enhance and enrich performing arts in Federal Way, ensuring the Performing Arts & Event Center is a dynamic regional anchor at the city center with high-quality programs, exceptional service, and education in the arts for youth in our community.

Salary: $65,500

For FT roles: Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, 401(k) matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).

Responsibilities

  • Manage and participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of all Sales programs and activities.
  • Develop and implement all aspects of sales plan
  • Develop and implement revenue and expense budget for sales department
  • Track and manage daily, weekly, monthly sales reports
  • Represents the facility as a sales representative both locally and out-of-town.
  • Researches, identifies, and establishes the appropriateness of groups for the facility
  • Contacts prospective user groups and individuals to initiate the sales effort.
  • Discusses the facility with site selection committees or appropriate others.
  • Assists in developing and implementing the sales/marketing activities of the facility including developing budget submissions and follow-through systems and procedures.
  • Communicates problems and proposed solutions to management/supervisor
  • Submits regular activity reports and performs related duties as required.
  • Assisting in creating and implementation of marketing campaigns (Illustrator, Canva)
  • Write and send out Press Releases
  • Develop and maintain our database and send out eblast and newsletters
  • Assist with the managing day-to-day digital marketing program, including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, lnstagram, Snapchat, Google Analytics, Tik Tok, etc
  • Market research that will require making phone calls, emailing, searching the internet, and conducting meetings with individuals within the marke
  • Participate in developing and implementing event marketing plans and promotion
  • Assist with grassroots marketing, including creation and distribution of flyers, hanging posters, tabling and creating relationships with various retailers to promote event
  • Update community calendars of events with detailed information on each show or event
  • Develop and maintain relationships with promoters, event producers, sub-contractors, tenants and clients including creating and executing applicable letter of agreements.
  • Attend and promote at festivals and community events at off-site locations throughout the year
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years sales experience, preferably with an arena, convention center, hotel or other similar public assembly facility and including some supervisory responsibility
  • Strong management, motivational & organizational skills required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English and Spanish language required
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Knowledge of Public relations
  • Willingness to work the hours necessary/permitted by your supervisor to meet sales goals (includes nights, weekends and select holidays, in addition to traditional business hours)
  • Strong computer skills including Internet and MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of marketing and advertising/sponsorship program development
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Knowledge of the market and music industry experience preferred
