Sales Excellence, Value Center of Excellence – DC Senior Consultant – National_Office

The U.S. Consulting Value Center of Excellence (VCOE) has an opening for a Senior Consultant level, value analysis professional. Existing team members reside across the U.S. and in India. Minimal travel is required. Because of frequent interaction with team counterparts in India, ability to collaborate with them across time zones is highly desirable.

Work You’ll Do

  • Provide client account team support in the utilization of VCOE financial analytics, approaches, and tools in the development of client relationships and sales of services
  • Complete detailed shareholder value analyses to derive insights and hypotheses in understanding clients’ strategies, competitive positioning, and industry dynamics
  • Tailor analyses to the specific requirements of the client team to identify sales opportunities and support the communication of the client team’s story, once the opportunity has been identified

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leverage quantitatively-oriented tools to conduct financial benchmarking analyses of companies relative to their peers in order to assess areas of strength and weakness in terms of both historic and expected corporate performance
  • Complete credit health assessments on clients to understand relative solvency and liquidity positions
  • Assess our clients’ performance across ESG-related initiatives
  • Interpret and apply the results of analyses to key business issues impacting clients through detailed financial modeling
  • Create analytical dashboards as part of the VCOE real-time analytics platform
  • Perform qualitative research to develop summaries of key industry trends impacting our clients
  • Present findings to account teams on a regular basis
  • Contribute to new and innovative VCOE work streams, in addition to serving client requests.
  • Provide PMO-support for various VCOE initiatives to add both depth and breadth to the team’s current services
  • Oversee various workstreams of our US-I teammates
  • Team with VCOE practitioners to identify and develop approaches, tools, and points of view that will enable client service staff to sell and deliver work more effectively

The Team

The Value COE is a specialized analytics team, leveraged across industries and service offerings, to strengthen value creation as a go-to-market differentiator for Deloitte. Through its integrated suite of tools and solutions, this team completes detailed performance benchmarking, financial analyses, and share price modeling for our client account team to better understand client challenges and drivers of shareholder value as well identify improvement opportunities. All of this with goal of driving demand for the Firm and ultimately helping to capture that demand. The Value COE focuses on helping our professionals develop CXO-level client relationships as well as support pursuits across offerings to close and deliver sales.

This high-visibility team, which is part of the Sales Excellence organization, works with client account teams to better understand client challenges, identify improvement opportunities, and engage in an approach to enhance shareholder value, with the goal of driving demand for the Firm and ultimately helping to capture that demand. As our clients face greater and more complex challenges, the ability to construct a stronger thesis around how they could improve their economic performance to unlock shareholder value becomes more important. The Value COE focuses on helping our professionals develop CXO-level client relationships as well as support pursuits across offerings to close and deliver sales.

Qualifications

The Team Member will possess outstanding analytical, financial modeling, research, and communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills are essential given that the position will have significant interaction with areas across the Firm as well as Deloitte’s leadership.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Finance or Accounting
  • Deep understanding of financial statements (CFA designation or knowledge of CFA curriculum preferred)
  • Strong financial modeling experience (e.g. discounted cash flow analyses, regression models, Monte Carlo simulations)
  • Strong consulting skills (e.g. meeting/conversation facilitation, needs/issues identification, situation analysis, solution formulation, buy-in/sales management, project management)
  • Solid communication skills (writing and speaking; comfortable working with lead client service partners/principals; presentation skills for client/account team workshops)
  • Strong relationship/account management skills (relationship building, account planning and management)
  • Experience in a professional services firm is preferred, especially one offering financial advisory or investment banking services
  • Self-starting, team player that can excel in a fast-paced and high-performance work environment and is comfortable working independently

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ERP-technology experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI is also preferred
  • MBA preferred

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $94,000 to $171,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
