The Crown Publishing Group seeks a Sales Marketing Assistant to orchestrate Sales materials across its two key imprints, Crown and Clarkson Potter/Ten Speed Press. From Self-Help and Memoir to Cooking and Humor, this role is responsible for working on an exciting, broad-ranging list of nonfiction titles. The Sales Marketing Assistant for Crown will be the key point person for sales reps both in-house and around the country, acting as a liaison between Publishing, Marketing/Publicity, and Sales. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with publishing teams to communicate and track deadlines for sales materials; creating presentations for and scheduling seasonal sales meetings; and assisting with the Advance Copy and Signed Edition Programs.
The Assistant should be highly motivated, enthusiastic about publishing, and love reading broadly and often. We are looking for a detail-oriented, meticulous self-starter who has strong writing and analytical skills, communicates clearly, and is invested in being part of a dynamic, fast-paced team. The ideal candidate will manage a diverse set of responsibilities efficiently and is comfortable asking for help when needed.
The position of Sales Marketing Assistant at Crown is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities, which will include but not be limited to creating and mailing dummy books, as well as attending author events and conventions. We will consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NY, NJ, CT, & PA).

The Role:
- Acting as a key liaison between publishing teams to communicate and track deadlines for sales materials, such as catalog copy, recorded editorial presentations, and early reading materials
- Reviewing catalog copy, suggesting edits in accordance with best practices, and ensuring all edits have been completed
- Trafficking catalog copy to publishers, web copy team, and Sales Directors; ensuring deadlines are met and providing materials to Sales Reps by respective deadline
- Scheduling weekly and seasonal sales meetings and spearheading follow-up with publishing and marketing/publicity teams
- Creating PowerPoint presentations for sales meetings; working with Publishing Managers and marketing/publicity teams to implement edits
- Assisting with Advance Copy Program: soliciting quantities, coordinating with production team, monitoring inventory, creating early book mockups, and scheduling mailings
- Executing departmental administrative duties as needed

The salary for this position is $48,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
