Salary:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $39,000.00 per year but may be commensurate with education and/or experience.
About the Job:
As the Salesperson, you will be responsible for the promotion and sales of products and services manufactured by the Indiana Correctional Industries.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Make direct sales calls to prospective and existing customers within an assigned product line and/or territory while maintaining accurate and current records pertaining to any sales calls, summaries, customer complaints, and price quotations.
- Investigate problems with products and services and monitor customer complaints by coordinating with the Customer Service Representatives, ensuring that complaints are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
- Perform telemarketing responsibilities to obtain feedback on particular products or to introduce new products and services.
- Participate in trade shows, presentations, and exhibits.
- Assist in the development of promotional materials and offer recommendations on particular sales tools which are used to best promote the product and services.
- Prepare weekly sales reports on customer contacts, briefly describing the activities with the customer called upon.

What You’ll Need for Success:
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
- High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE).
- Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation.
- Specialized knowledge of effective selling techniques and strategies.
- Ability to gain specialized knowledge of the products and services offered by PEN, such as prices, product availability, and descriptions.
- Ability to generate concise and informative sales reports, price quotations, and product bulletins.
- Effective communication skills.
