About The Opportunity
Position Summary
Assists with product packaging design to ensure product integrity and appeal under varying shipping and display conditions. Assists in testing and analysis of materials for packaging based on durability and cost effectiveness.
Essential to this Position
- Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
- Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness.
- Start up and shut down machines properly.
- Consistently and safely operates machines at or above standards of operation including waste, quality, efficiency and utilization.
- Operate cutting table to cut out mockups.
- Prepare assembly instruction sheets.
- Assemble, fill, and ship mockups for customer.
- Develop a working knowledge of, and utilize design/CAD software, including shippers, fillers etc.
- Set personal goals to improve knowledge of total operations of the design department.
- Organize and maintain customer sample products.
- Provide feedback on possible design improvements or corrections for samples and prototypes.
- Organize and maintain shop along with cleanliness. Maintain all sample shop machines as needed.
- Order all material and hardware as needed.
- Receive and ship samples/materials.
- Troubleshoot, identify and correct machine/rack -related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment and devices that are required, in accordance with all STW documentation (if STW is not developed for any process within this job, proper training techniques must be followed).
- Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement; promote and sustain any and all CI, 5S and STW activities.
- Contribute to a team effort.

- Ability to pass MIG welding test.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles.
- Ability to operate hand tools.
- Knowledge of lock out tag out procedures.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
- SAP experience
- CAD experience.
- Ability to handle the stress of working with others.
- Availability outside of normal business hours.
- Ability to lead by example.
