SAP Security Administrator

Position Description

As an SAP Security Administrator, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge in Systems, Applications & Products in Data Processing (SAP) application security
  • Meet business needs by collaborating with business process owners and other project teams to configure and manage SAP profiles and roles
  • Manage SAP roles by fulfilling various responsibilities, including updates related to bug fixes, complex role creation and design, and segregation of duties (SoD), such as park and post segregations
  • Use the transport management system (TMS) to promote security changes following documented procedures
  • Monitor all aspects of the SAP Support portal for security violations and raise incidents with SAP Support, as needed
  • Support audit and compliance activities
  • Facilitate security testing for security roles and integration testing of security access

Position Requirements

This position requires the following skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • At least three years’ experience working on security for SAP Applications, such as enterprise resource planning central component (ECC), Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), Gateway, and Solution Manager
  • Solid understanding of SAP application security implementation methodologies, role-based access controls and different applications threats
  • Knowledge of SoD concepts with the ability to drive security role remediation plans for audit and compliance related findings
  • Understanding of SAP authorization concept, roles, different user and role types, and user administration on different SAP platforms
  • Experience implementing SAP Security notes and patches to SAP Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) and Java stack systems
  • Background with User Administration in ABAP systems using SAP Standard tcodes, including PFCG, SU21, SU24, SUIM, and CUA
  • Solid understanding of User Administration and support in Java systems using Identity Management and NetWeaver Administrator
  • Practice supporting end-to-end SAP Security project implementation, security and GRC, testing support, Cutover preparation, and Hyper care activities
  • Self-motivated, team player with capacity to work on global projects
  • Confidence to identify and communicate issues and risks to the business or project owner to facilitate timely resolution
  • Work independently on standard SAP authorizations tasks

Preferred

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • SAP Certified in SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Security Administration
  • Experience using newer SAP applications and database security, such as HANA, S4HANA, Lumira, IDM, GRC Process Control, GRC Risk Management, and Audit Management
  • Experience in Roles, Profiles, and Fiori Launchpad Security Administration
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills across project support, including production and operations support

Benefits

The base compensation range for this role is $110000 – $170000 / year for the position in California. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries in California based on the date of this job posting.
