We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer as a developer on our Data Systems Integration team within our Agile Release Train (ART) responsible for the physical buildup of the Functional Test Assembly.

The Next Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared System (OPIR) Geosynchronous Earth Orbit (GEO) Functional Test Assembly (FTA) Lab supports Space Vehicle design, development, qualification and operations. The Next Gen Geo (NGG) FTA uses a combination of flight like hardware, emulations, software, simulations and tools to represent a fully functioning space vehicle on the ground or in orbit. The lab provides a platform for the development, test and integration of both hardware (HW) and software (SW) products.

This role would responsible for
• Scrum Software developer in test
• Creating well-designed, testable, efficient scripts following engineering best coding standards.
• Creating and following detailed test procedures and instructions
• Developing an architecture that integrates various SW/HW into an Lab Environment to perform Risk Mitigations, System Validation and challenging Testing objectives in support of Satellite Missions.
• Real-time trouble-shooting and modification of lab configurations as needed by stakeholder/customer
• Configuring lab for specific test events
• Analyzing spacecraft test data

Responsibilities

Within 30 days

• Understand your product your developing and supporting
• Understand how to leverage the agile framework in your day to day activities and interactions with your team.

Within 60 days
• Working on stories while interfacing with your Scrum Master and Product Owner
• Understanding how your teams interface between SBIRS and NGG
• Present completed project at sprint demo’s
• Participate and contribute to story creation

Within 90 days
• Make technical contributions to configurations scripts
• Understand test configurations while working with stakeholders
• Present their knowledge of the tool they are working on
• Work as a contributing member of the team, by collaborating with other colleagues to find solutions to problems.
• Deliver value driven code, Contribute to the teams visions and work with your product owner to define and create innovate solutions to some of our biggest challenges.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experienced developer with Python, bash, SSL, and basic Linux command line tasks or similar
• Experience or familiarity with Git and/or version control
• Experience with hardware/software integration
Desired Skills:
• Have a strong understanding of satellite subsystems: thermal, mechanical, power, data handling, guidance and navigation(attitude control), and communication subsystems.
• Have some understanding of the lab spacecraft component simulators.
• Understanding of 1553 data architecture.
• Experience working in Agile environments (i.e. Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc.)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $120,700 – $227,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
