ENGIE NA Grid Scale Renewables organization is seeking a qualified Scheduling Manager to join our high performing team. The successful candidate will work within the Business Operations department’s Project Controls Office. The Project Controls Office is a service center to all other functional departments within the Grid Scale Renewables portfolio. The Scheduling Manager would support managing, training, and maintaining project scheduling processes, procedures, and best practices. The Scheduling Manager will work collaboratively on cross-functional project teams to provide control functions for assigned projects throughout the entire project life cycle. This position will be required to interface with various corporate support functions and be proficient in the use of various enterprise systems used by Engie. The Scheduling Manager provides subject matter expertise (SME) in the various disciplines of project management and control; maintains ownership for the development and continuous improvement of scheduling policies, standards, and guides that standardize to optimize project schedule deliverables. Leading a team of schedulers and planners, the Scheduling Manager balances meeting project, department, portfolio, and Company objectives. This is a detail-oriented individual who will proactively pursue and investigate underlying features surrounding information being reported in order to understand project related risks/ issues. The Scheduling Manager has excellent analytical, organizational, communication and presentation skills.
This position sit in Houston and reports to the Manager, Project Controls – Business Operations ENGIE NA Grid Scale Renewables.
What you’ll do:
- Work independently to monitor the portfolio’s schedule health and viability metrics and make improvements as required
- Responsibilities include the development and monitoring of both summary level and detailed schedules, throughout a project’s life cycle
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to project scope, contract requirements, schedule progress and performance
- Set up and lead training sessions across ENGIE regarding scheduling standards, guidelines, tools, and templates by which large, complex projects will be developed and executed
- Lead meetings to discuss schedule progress, communicate slippage and discuss risks on a project and portfolio level
- Provide mentorship, training, and support to other schedulers and planners which enables them to meet personal and departmental goals and objectives
- Develop and lead departmental resource planning to ensure projects are supported and schedulers/ planners are fully utilized
- Assist in the development, construction and presentation of department initiatives related to planning tools, schedule templates, and progress measurement tools
- Routinely produce, assess, and distribute weekly and monthly project status reports. Identify and review any risks, constraints, or issues and present solutions
- Responsibilities include leading a team of schedulers/ planners as well as managing their own portfolio of projects, while ensuring Company objectives are being met
What you’ll do:
- Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Project or Construction Management, Information Systems, or related field is preferred
- A minimum of six (6) years’ of experience working as a project scheduler/ planner and able to illustrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties required
- Project Management Professional (PMP), PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), or similar certification is preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project Professional and Project Web App (PWA)
- Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Excel to create customized schedule analysis tools using data import, sorting and filtering, pivot tables, graphs, charts, and custom formulas, such as VLOOKUP, etc
- Project schedule development (according to best practices of the Project Management Institute), using the Critical Path Method
- Ability to conduct forensic schedule analysis using dynamic CPM schedule models
- Experience with the change management process and its impact on plans and schedules
- Experience with quantitative risk analysis techniques for schedules
- Experience working independently with minimal oversight on objectives that are established and agreed upon
- For this position, you must have evidence of right to work in the U.S. There is no employer sponsorship of U.S. residency or work authorization with this role
- Experience in wind and solar project development, design and/ or construction is preferred
- Proficient user of Primavera P6
- Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI to develop customized dashboards and reports which connect to multiple varied data sources
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) KPI and S-Curve calculation and analysis

- Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000 annually
- Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors
- In addition to salary, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan
