About Tanager
Beginning in 1879, we are Linn County’s First Children’s Human Services agency. We’re always evolving to serve the needs of our community. Our programs focus on prevention, treatment and outreach, and serve children and teens of all ages. We are proud to support more than 4,000 kids per year.
The Tanager School Based Program currently works with nine area school districts to make evidence-based treatment available to students struggling with mental and behavioral challenges outside of the home. Services are conveniently offered at school eliminating the need for caregivers to arrange transportation.

Job Details
This is a new position within our organization! Be one of the first members of the School Based Behavioral Health Intervention (BHIS) Team! You will be directly meeting with children and their families in a school setting to provide skill building services addressing their mental health diagnosis. Skill services center around seven focus areas to include: cognitive flexibility skills, communication skills, conflict resolution skills, executive skills, interpersonal relationship skills, problem solving skills, and social skills. In this position, you will provide indirect coordination and collaboration with other professionals to coordinate services for the benefit for the child/family. To function as a member of the Community Based Behavioral Health Intervention Services Program, providing holistic support and skill based services to children, families, and educators in a school setting.
Qualifications
Acceptable Experience/Training/ Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related human services field.
- Minimum of one-year relevant post-degree experience in the human services field.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Required Special Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid Drivers License and meet the driving requirements of the Agency.
