Job Description

STRONG CANDIDATE IDENTIFIED

The Health Promotion, Practice and Innovation (HPPI) Portfolio has an opening for a part-time School-based Social and Emotional Learning Project Director (School-based SEL Project Director), reporting to the Senior Project Director.

The HPPI portfolio includes projects related to social and emotional learning, school-based mental health supports, substance misuse prevention, and suicide prevention. This position has a specific focus on school-based social and emotional learning and mental health supports.

The person in this position is expected to communicate clearly and courteously; to develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, collaborators, co-workers, field sites, and funders; and to work respectfully with EDC colleagues. The job requires adherence to EDC policies & procedures.

You will:

  • oversee programmatic/technical success and be responsible for administrative/business/financial viability of each project
  • direct team of trainers and technical assistance (TA) providers who support schools across Massachusetts implement SEL and mental health strategies
  • create online and in-person trainings
  • manage performance, and adherence to schedules, resource requirements, and quality standards
  • develop policies & procedures to improve project/program management efficiency, quality, consistency or effectiveness; implements and enforces Center and EDC policies, procedures or systems
  • promote equity and opportunity in support of EDC’s commitment to diversity

Qualifications

This position requires educational achievement; excellent writing skills; demonstrable initiative, creativity, and flexibility; ability to work independently and effectively in groups; and strong interpersonal & organizational skills. Specific requirements:

Education:

  • Master’s Degree in related field or equivalent combination of training and experience

Skills & Experience:

  • At least 6 years of related experience including budget responsibility and staff supervision
  • Excellent analytical skills and aptitude for details
  • Experience in school leadership, school-level systems, and/or school-level strategic planning
  • Demonstrated expertise in SEL, mental and/or behavioral health

Additional Information

Preference for individuals in the Massachusetts area. This position will need to travel to schools in Massachusetts about 10 days a year, otherwise work can be remote and is open to US-based telecommuters.

This position offers an anticipated full-time equivalent annual base salary range of approximately $74,000 to $110,000. Salary offers are made based on market analysis and internal equity.
