Job Description
KIPP Memphis is seeking School Laborers for a temporary work assignment with the following work details:
- Location: 230 Henry Ave, Memphis 38107 and 2110 Howell Ave, Memphis 38108
- Weekly Hours: 25 hours a week (exact times designated by Supervisor)
- Term: Monday July 17th – Friday July 28th
General Responsibilities include:
- Assist in moving, cleaning, physical labor, and packing at the school building.
- Maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all assigned duties.
- Move equipment and materials within and between school buildings.
- Act as a substitute custodian when necessary.
- Adhere to all safety policies.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Required – High School Diploma
- Preferred – Prior experience as a Laborer/Maintenance employee
- Communicate effectively with other School Laborers and Supervisor
- React to change productively
- Appropriately operate all equipment and machinery as necessary
- Support the value of a high quality education
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
- Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials up to 50 lbs.
- Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching.
- Requires climbing and balancing.
- Must work indoors and outdoors.
- Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors.
- Must be able to work in high places.
Additional Information
This is a temporary position. Salary for this position is $20/hr.
