NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Salary Range
$101,400 – $201,400
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
What Your Job Will Be Like
We are seeking a dedicated S&E Project Manager to lead the deployment of Model-Based Definition (MBD) capability to meet National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) digital engineering and accelerated product realization goals. The selected candidate will work closely with the MBD Team, various weapon programs, key business partners, and stakeholders from across the NSE to manage the successful deployment of MBD tools, processes, training, qualification, maintenance, and customer support.
On any given day, you may be asked to:
- Work with management, program leads, and technical staff to define program goals
- Develop project proposals and collaborate with management and programs to procure funding
- Develop project plans, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), schedules, and project due dates
- Identify resource needs and collaborate with management to acquire
- Oversee project execution to ensure projects are completed on-time and within budget
- Report program and project status to management, customers, and stakeholders
- Lead all aspects of work for business support and project team members
- Ensure timely generation, collection, dissemination, storage, and disposition of project information
Qualifications We Require
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field, plus 5 years of experience in mechanical product design.
- Current PMP certification or equivalent certification, or the ability to obtain within 12 months
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-Level Security Clearance

- Experience developing resource-loaded schedules with Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Knowledge of management practices, assurance processes, business operations, fiscal, and scheduling systems
- Proficiency in tools and applications commonly employed in project management activities
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks
- Demonstrated teaming skills, including the ability to work effectively with leadership at multiple levels, customers, other organizations, and technical leads
About Our Team
The Strategic Planning and Execution department (02953) is the home of the Model-Based Definition Team. This team is responsible for identifying target maturity levels for various Model-Based Definition technologies and then developing and deploying the tools, processes, training, and documentation to achieve those targets. The Model-Based Definition solutions that this team develops are then used by Sandia’s “Design Engineering Group” to generate product design and definition to support various partners across Sandia National Labs. The Design Engineering Group consists of multiple design departments which provide design engineering services using MCAD and ECAD tools such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Product Data Management (PDM) software.
