Description
The Garner Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department is seeking Scorekeepers for youth and adult basketball and softball games. Games may be played at the Garner Recreation Center, Avery Street Recreation Center, and local ballfields.
Examples of Duties
- Accurately record the score of youth and adult basketball and softball games
- Keep time by starting and stopping the clock
- Prepare facility before the game(s)
- Clean and take down all equipment after the game(s)
- Adjust team scores in accordance with official’s decision
- Keep track of possession arrow
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service
- Maintain records of all fouls and player eligibility
- Respond to and report emergencies
- Communicate any problems or concerns to the supervisor
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
Applicants with knowledge of basketball and softball rules are preferred.
Applicants with prior experience as a scorekeeper for basketball and/or software are preferred.
Additional Information
Appropriate training will be provided for selected candidates.
