Position Overview
10 Positions
Salary: $13.00 – $15.00/hour DOE
Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons
As a City of Billings Parks, Recreation and Public Lands Scorekeeper you will serve the department’s sports programs by providing scorekeeping duties during select activities. Applicant must be familiar with the rules and bylaws of the respective sport and have the ability to operate timing devices and/or the official scorebook for the designated sport. You must have the ability to quickly evaluate information and make decisions and judgement calls. Applicant must be able to resolve conflicts and stay calm while handling disputes. Applicants must work well with children and adults. Games can be Monday – Thursday nights, Sunday afternoons, and there could be 3-4 games per day/night.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties: Professional behavior before and after sporting events. Operate scoreboard and/or timing device for designated sport. Perform routine clerical and technical work keeping score sheets and/or time clock. Communicate with coaches and umpires/referees.

- Professional, confident, and capable of dealing with players, parents, officials, and fans
- Pass background check and pre-employment drug test
- Reliable transportation to and from games and training
- Must be at least 16 years of age
