Description

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Facilities and Construction, will be responsible for the coordination, orchestration and procurement of the necessary equipment and construction materials needed to complete a facility build out. Also responsible for performing construction, maintenance and repairs in all new and existing facilities. Duties include carpentry, drywall, plumbing, electrical and lighting, painting, and replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs and HVAC filters.

Essential Functions/Duties

1. Coordinate the build out phase of new facilities.

2. Acquisition of all the necessary equipment for each new facility.

3. Perform general carpentry and maintenance projects at all facilities.

4. Perform maintenance repairs such as replacing ceiling tile, light bulbs and HVAC filters.

5. Inspect and repair emergency exit and other lighting as required.

6. Perform basic electrical repairs including installing or changing switches, outlets and ballast.

7. Perform basic drywall hanging and finishing.

8. Perform basic plumbing including rough-in, setting fixtures and installing faucets.

9. Responsible for painting and touching up all stores; change out and install carpet.

10. Utilize and ensure use of Lock out Tag out procedures. Ability to understand the manufacturer’s recommendations for the use and application of their products.

11. Maintain logs and project files as directed.

12. Follow safety procedures when repairing or replacing items as assigned; adhere to and support the Organization’s safety and security program.

13. Secure the Company’s property and protect it from weather, theft, vandalism and other damages.

14. Maintain appropriate dress code including name badge.

15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities and Construction.

16. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Facilities and Construction.

Qualifications

The list below is representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability utilized while performing this job.

1. Ability to adhere to the Organization’s Core Principles.

2. Have a working knowledge of construction and renovation including; framing, trim, concrete form and finish, plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpet, flooring, painting and facility maintenance.

3. Ability to work with other contractors or trade partners while completing projects.

4. Ability to read and understand blueprints.

5. Ability to replace ceiling tile, light bulbs and HVAC filters.

6. Ability to work with hand and power tools such as drills, saws, and nail guns.

7. Ability to respond to and handle assignments and instructions given by supervisor.

8. Work independently with minimal supervision.

Education and/or Experience:

High School education or equivalent is required. A minimum of five (5) years’ building and or maintenance experience is required.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

1. Regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.

2. Vision abilities required by this job include: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

3. Sitting, standing or walking for long periods of time

4. Stooping, bending, kneeling, balancing, crawling, pushing and pulling and climbing ladders.

5. Perform work outside and inside; exposure to weather conditions, dust, dirt, electricity, noise, fumes and chemicals.

6. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud (examples: metal can manufacturing department, large earth-moving equipment).

7. Must be able to pass a level 2 background check.

License and Certifications:

Valid Florida Driver’s License with a clean driving record and current private auto insurance policy.
