OPPORTUNITY:
The Los Angeles Chargers is looking for dependable, highly motivated, hard-working, enthusiastic individuals to join the team’s Community Relations Department for the 2023 NFL season. Applicants should be recent/upcoming college graduates with a passion for sports, nonprofits and charities, corporate social responsibility, fundraising, and working with community organizations serving both youth and adults.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Facilitation, processing, and inventory management of charitable donation requests and fulfillment
- Assisting with administrative duties including correspondence, filing, event registration, etc. Correspond with fan on requests, organize fan mail, etc.
- Assisting with preparation, coordination and execution of community relations and player-involved community activities during the season
- Coordinating and executing youth skills camps and community events throughout Southern California
- Assisting with community relations game day operations including field presentations/visits, guest escorts, general hospitality, and 50/50 raffle administrative duties
- Other duties as assigned
- This position will run for the duration of the 2023-2024 NFL season, approximately from July 2023 – February 2024. This position will work Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm, as well as nights, weekends, holidays and all Chargers home games
Required Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent education required. A 2 or 4 year college degree preferred.
- A reliable self-starter with high motivation, organization and attention to detail i.e. someone who will show up every day, solve problems and identify opportunities
- Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and ability to represent the team in public facing events with a personable and professional demeanor
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Strong cultural competency and multi-cultural awareness
- Commitment to team collaboration and continuous improvement
- Knowledge and interest of sports and Community Relations a plus
Applicant Must:
- Possess basic football knowledge
- Have availability to work nights, weekends, holidays and all Chargers home games
- Possess a valid California driver’s license
- Be willing/able to drive a 16ft box truck
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds at events and stand for a prolonged period of time
This position will pay $17.00 an hour
