General Purpose

BPRW is in need of a seasonal event staffer. In this position, you will help with the set up and on-site execution of indoor and outdoor events throughout the city’s parks.

An Event Staffer will at times work independently and other times on a larger team. Staffers should be knowledgeable or willing to learn about customer service, hospitality and day of event task execution. Event staff must be incredibly trustworthy and professional at all times. Training comes with the work, depending on experience.

Ability to work on evenings and weekends, with July 2nd-4th, Wednesday evening/night and Thursday evenings a requirement. Please note this is primarily a summer position with less hours after August, and the ideal candidate has some availability into November.

Essential Job Functions

  • Support BPRW’s event production for the department’s roster of summer and fall events, along with newly developing partnership events.
  • Work indoors and outdoors, handle physical tasks, and conduct work with professionalism and compassion for everyone encountered.
  • Contribute to effective relationships with third-party vendors, organizations, cultural and community organizations, and City personnel.
  • Ability to work on evenings and weekends.
  • Complete the set-up of all aspects of the day, including chairs, tables, sporting equipment, audio equipment, and much more.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements

  • Ability to actively support City diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as evidenced by ongoing trainings and professional development.
  • Valid driver’s is license required; having own transportation is preferred.
  • Operation of a City vehicle or personal vehicle to conduct City business without providing proof of a valid driver’s license to Human Resources will not be permitted. A valid driver’s license shall be defined as a current state of residence-issued license to operate a motor vehicle on public roadways. Position also requires the ability to be covered under the City’s vehicle insurance policy prior to operation of any City vehicles or non-City vehicles for City business.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
