Summary of Job
Skating Instructor at the K.B. Willett Ice Arena. The Ice Skating Instructor is responsible for running and assisting the City Public skating lessons.
5 – 10 hours per week.
Tasks Routinely Performed
Assist and/or lead ice skating lessons and be able to teach basic skating skills.
Monitor proper use of equipment and ensure skaters have properly fitting skates.
Assist in the planning and organization of the lessons.
Provide patrons the proper techniques needed to succeed in the development of their ice skating skills.
Provide a safe and fun environment that promotes enjoying the sport for exercise and fun.
Qualifications
Instructors must maintain yearly coach compliance requirements through Learn to Skate USA and the United States Figure Skating Association.
Must be able to teach ice skating skills and general fitness experience.
Applicant should have previous ice skating instructor experience.
Must be able to teach fundamental skating and hockey skills to children ranging in ages 3-18 years old as well as adults.
Applicant would have to be available week day evenings and weekends.
