Summary of Job
The Winter Sports Supervisor is responsible for general supervision of the Winter Sports Area at all times. Supervision shall include the All-purpose building, toboggan slides, sled-saucer hills, ice rinks and adjacent grounds, ensuring that all non-supervisory employees are fulfilling their responsibilities and assisting them when necessary, assisting the public; and following and enforcing rules adopted for the recreational use and safe operation of the Winter Sports facility. Must be able to meet and serve patrons in a cheerful and effective manner, also must be able to maintain control over the Winter Sports Park and be familiar with building regulations and safety requirements.
The Winter Sports Supervisor is responsible in all matters to the Park Maintenance Supervisor and Director.
Tasks Routinely Performed
Maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times. Always wear the provided jacket when working.
Maintain consistency with enforcement of all park rules and regulations.
Ensure all employees are ready for work at the scheduled time and make sure that areas are ready for scheduled activities.
Supervise the use of the toboggan slides and sled-saucer hills.
Perform first aid as necessary. Make sure all injuries are reported and a form is filled out immediately. Record, Complete, Review all paperwork. Ensure all employees are properly filling out appropriate reports/forms for Winter Sports Area as needed.
Follow Universal precautions for infection control as stated in the Winter Sports employee manual.
Complete in detail the Daily Cashier’s Report for concessions and toboggan rentals.
You are responsible for activities in all areas of the Winter Sports Area; therefore, it is important that you supervise the inside and the outside of the building.
Ensure all employees pick up litter inside and outside of the building and grounds. Be sure that all spilled liquids are cleaned up as soon as possible.
Warn patrons of the Winter Sports Area closing time by giving them a ten minute warning. (Use P.A. system)
Responsible for following building closing procedure at the end of each shift.
Qualifications
Ability to supervise and direct the work of others.
Ability to demonstrate good public relations skills.
Ability to get along and work with fellow employees.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work in cold, rain, snow and damp conditions.
Ability to work days, evenings and weekends as required.
Ability to bend, twist, and squat occasionally for 4-9 hours per day and be able to lift 50-100 pounds.
Ability to read/write and follow verbal and written directions.
Ability to continuously walk or stand for 4-9 hours.
Knowledge of basic First Aid.
