About the Production Coordinator BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival Role:

BRIC seeks a Production Coordinator for the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival who will work alongside all production staff to ensure high safety standards, high-quality production values, and excellent artist/audience experiences throughout a summer of performing arts programming at the Lena Horne Bandshell in Prospect Park.

What You’ll Do in the Role:

The Production Coordinator will be responsible for the following, in addition to any other projects as assigned by the Production Supervisor & Technical Director:

  • In coordination with the production team and producing team, schedule stage run-of-show timelines for all programs within the season, including setup, sound checks, performances, and strikes.
  • Support the Production Supervisor and Producer with the planning and implementation of all aspects of the day to day productions at the Prospect Park Bandshell.
  • Support advance of all talent, management, agent, and/or clients with the venue’s technical specifications and ensure that they fully understand all venue guidelines, including but not limited to: dB levels, sound checks, curfews, set lengths, in-house equipment, and vehicle policies and procure talent technical requirements for all programs including, but not limited to: backline and technical needs.
  • Communicate clearly between vendors, strategic partners and internal teams.
  • Research suppliers and vendors, compare quotes, confirm contracts and ensure payment.
  • Work with staff, performers’ and artist teams, technicians and third-party clients to ensure overall success of every production.
  • Work as part of a large venue team committed to high-level production values and safety; and a positive artist, audience and co-worker experience.
  • Source, acquire and monitor production supplies and rental equipment as needed.
  • Keep track of production expenses and purchases.
  • Direct/regulate vehicular traffic in and out of the park (transportation coordination).
  • Rent equipment required for all programs and schedule all delivery and pick-up times with vendors.

  • Experience & Qualifications:
    • Motivated, energetic, responsible, flexible. Passion for music and working outdoors.
    • Ability to work independently and troubleshoot with confidence.
    • Ability to work well under pressure.
    • Willingness to work outdoors, early mornings, late nights, long days, and weekend shifts, and in inclement weather.
    • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
    • Proficiency with Google email platform and Microsoft Office.
    • Valid NYS drivers license and clean driving record helpful.
    • 5 years’ professional work experience in live event, entertainment, live theater, touring, concert, and/or production experience, preferably in large venues.
    • B.A. or B.F.A. in technical theater or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • OSHA 30-hour safety training and knowledge of safety standards for local, state, OSHA, and other federal guidelines.
    • Strong decision-making, organizational and problem solving skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diplomacy and tact with artists and coworkers.
    • Fire Guard and CPR certification and a basic knowledge of first aid.
    • Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse population.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and make sound decisions on deadline.
    • CAD software proficient, either Vectorworks or AutoCad.
  • Communication & Relationship Building: An emotionally intelligent, values- and results-driven leader who can inspire staff and collaborate across departments and at all levels of the organization. Ability to effectively manage staff and provide feedback and coaching to support the achievement of goals. Highly skilled communicator and relationship builder, both individually and in large audiences or public communications.

Other Things to Know:

  • Compensation: This is an hourly paid position $25/hr. Meals provided on show days.
  • Status and location: This is a seasonal role based at the Lena HorneBandshell at Prospect Park.
  • Performance and General schedule:
    • March – April (remote PT hours, as needed)
    • April 24 – June 6 (Load In: Mon-Fri. 8 hours/ day)
    • June 7 – August 24 (Show days + prep days, approx. 10-14 hours/day, exact dates TBD)
    • August 25 – September 4 (8 -10 consecutive 8 hour days, exact dates TBD)
