Digital & Virtual Design Manager

Overview

The Brand Experience Global Digital & Virtual Design Manager will focus on creating innovative virtual platforms for PepsiCo portfolio brands from Pepsi to Lays. From the metaverse to 3D animation, AV performance, projection mapping, gaming, and more, our main objective is to translate and trans-create PepsiCo brands as you transport them worldwide through innovative digital experiences.

This position is responsible for managing workstreams and monitoring new projects for the Global team for experience design projects focusing on the digital and virtual experiential angle. In this new role, the candidate will lead projects across the global portfolio, from brief initiation to direct decision-making. The new role will consist of a broad scope of work, including project management, budget planning, and production management, which are critical for the position. This role will also deliver project management for up to five (5) large projects and weekly governance of different brands. This will require regular daily/weekly meetings with Design brand leaders and the perspective Marketing leaders across brands and functions.

Responsibilities

Design Project Management: Responsible for partnering across disciplines within PepsiCo and external suppliers to ensure design assets are developed and delivered with quality, value, and on time. Energizes and leads the internal team and external design resources from the idea phase to production and fabrication. Ensures each stakeholder understands their role and responsibilities throughout the creative process. Regularly reviews the status of projects with appropriate leadership to verify that Company’s expectations are met.

Brand Experience Design Development: Takes ownership of PepsiCo digital space design and activation of visual language across the virtual platforms. Working in collaboration with the Brand Design leaders, Global Design Team counterparts, and other design leaders, cutting across brand marketing. Generates creative design proposals (visions, scenarios, concepts) to visualize the desired output and share it with internal and external team members. Participates in research activities and effectively translates customer needs into actionable design requirements. Execute those requirements into design solutions. Responsible for driving to final design recommendations, decisions, and design approval to enable artwork execution/production phases.

Design R&D and Innovation: Identifies and promotes self-initiated design concepts that generate critical business value for the design team and the global marketplace. Partners regularly with the Design, R&D, and business teams. Shares their work and support design culture development in the organization.

Supporting the PepsiCo Design Organization in Regions: Partners regularly with Design, R&D, and business teams. Shares their work and support design culture development in the region and the organization.

External Design Network: Supports the PepsiCo Design Organization in building and cultivating a strong external design network.

Compensation & Benefits:
• The expected compensation range for this position is between $91,100 – $152,450.
• Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
• Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
• Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Design required with minimum 9+ years of hands-on design experience.
  • Have full-time agency side and or client-side experience.
  • Have digital design experience.
  • Advanced experience with 3D and digital softwares including Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, AutoCAD, VRay, Premiere, Final Cut, Cinema4D, AfterEffects, and other digital programs.
  • Strong conceptual design skills and design strategy experience.
  • Good communication skills to allow efficient interaction with internal and external partners, project coordination, and time management.
  • 360 brand design experience (i.e., digital, environmental, experiential).
  • Extraordinary design taste and expertise with an excellent sense of design trends.
  • Ability to work in an agile, dynamic work environment with a start-up mentality and comfortable with taking risks and proceeding through ambiguity.
  • Effectively communicates (verbally and written) with internal and external business partners.
  • Collaborative and works well with others to deliver results; keep others informed along the process.
  • Ability to multitask. Excellent time and project management skills to be able to meet project deadlines.
