Job Description
Provide secretarial and administrative support for the supervisor and staff of the Onsite Wastewater Management (OWM) Unit of the Environmental Health Section (EHS). This position requires the use of independent judgment and knowledge of the functions of the public health protection programs within the Unit, Section, and Drinking Water and Environmental Health Division (DWEHD). This position is responsible for preparing correspondence, reviewing, and editing documents, and other written materials. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining file records, including uploading incoming documents submitted from local health departments into appropriate data system, and completing other office related activities, such as preparing and distributing mail, answering phone calls, and assisting unit supervisor and staff in scheduling meetings.
Note: This position is being posted as a two-year Limited-Term position. A Limited-Term appointment has the potential to become permanent, but it’s never guaranteed.
The work location of this position will be Constitution Hall in Lansing, MI. However, the selected candidate may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule (combination of remote and in-person) or a fully remote work schedule (with occasional travel to their official work location). Employees approved for schedules that include remote work must complete that work within Michigan. Relocation expenses are not reimbursed. When working remote, employees must use a designated workspace that is safe and professionally appropriate, allows for privacy, minimizes distractions, and includes secure internet access.
