The IT Infrastructure & Security team is seeking a mid-level Security & Network Engineer, who is technically savvy and is excited about Cyber Security & Network Infrastructure, cloud IaaS connectivity (Azure, AWS, GCP), Cloud Network Monitoring Systems, Automation, etc. You will support all IT Security, Cloud, and Network Operations activities and be the champion in managing, enhancing, and supporting core communication systems, perimeter, and internal security.
The Information Security & NetOps Engineer should identify threats and vulnerabilities in systems and software, then apply their skills to developing and implementing high-tech solutions to defend against hacking, malware and ransomware, insider threats, and all types of cybercrime.
We’re looking for someone to assume this position with a limited transition and be ready to hit the ground running, must be a 100% hands-on tech enthusiast, and help IT Operations smoothly run Network Infrastructure for all locations of Skyline (by working closely with the Sr. Network Engineer). Participate in the re-architectural/re-engineering/network-refresh. Contribute to the IT Security Vision and participate in the rollouts. Bring ideas to the team to brainstorm, think out of the box and embrace a mature & fast-growing heterogeneous infrastructure. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures to protect the organization’s data, systems, and networks. Troubleshooting security and network problems. Responding to all system and/or network security breaches. The Security & Network Engineer will be responsible for operational support of data communications and security systems, including design, architecting, deploying, troubleshooting, technical analysis, and problem-solving expertise to perform daily network management, security proactive monitoring, network defense, and network HA/contingency, network performance & stability. Proactively participate in problem management and root cause analysis and maintain 24×7 availability and monitoring of business-critical network & security infrastructure.

Installing, Configuring, Deploying, Migrating, Troubleshooting and Managing:
- Network switching (Juniper JunOS primarily), routing and security infrastructure on-premises & cloud (such as Azure / AWS).
- Plans, designs, deploy and optimizes fixed (LAN, WAN) and wireless network communications systems.
- Troubleshoot and support Firewall, VPN and IPSec Tunnels.
- Secure Wireless (WIFI Juniper MIST or any other) management in the environment of a multi-office location.
- Experience working in a Highly Demanding and Mission Critical 24×7 Network & Security Operations Environment
- Troubleshooting skills in BGP/OSPF/Spanning Tree.
- Hands-on experience with IDS/IPS, HIDS. Experience with NAC.
- Experience with End Point Protection Systems (Symantec, Carbonblack, Cylance, CrowdStrike etc.)
- Able to assist and deploy and manage QoS in the video, voice, and data networks.
- Takes part in business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing and system backup and recovery.
- Maintains the integrity of network security systems to ensure data is appropriately protected.
- Strong documentation and written communication skills.
- Sniffer and debug network and application problems.
- Participate in on-call schedule including maintenance windows.
- Proactively Provides Fanatical Customer Service with Problem Resolution.
- Ensures problem resolution by initiating and tracking problem assignments.
- Establishes strong working relationships with internal customers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
- 6 – 8+yrs of IT Security Operations Experience as a primary job function.
- As a Core Network Engineer 4+ yrs are required.
- Fundamental understanding & troubleshooting of TCP, UDP, IP, and IP addressing / subnet masking/design.
- Experience with network architecture design in mid to complex networks.
- Hands-on experience with Cloud Platforms such as (MS Azure Network Services Virtual Networks, Amazon AWS VPC/ELB, etc.) as well as SaaS/MSP/MSSP (Security as A Service) cloud, Next Gen Firewalls.
- Experience using WAN Optimizers, and Packet Shapers.
- Experience participating in optimizing monitoring and trending (open-source Linux based and 3rd party) Tools/Systems like Nagios, Zenoss, Zabbix, Cacti, Graphite, SolarWinds etc.
- Knowledge of routing protocols (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP, BGP) and their implementation is required.
- Knowledge of network security, including Firewall, VPN and IPSec Tunnels, etc. is a plus.
- Knowledge IAM/IDM (MFA “Multi-Factor Authentication”), OAUTH, OpenID, SAML 2.0, Federated Identity.
- Knowledge of SDN, NFV, DMVPN, MPLS, VxLANs, SD-WAN, IPv6 networks (Dual-Stack).
- Familiarity with Linux (Redhat, CentOS, Ubuntu) desired.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

Location
- Preferably Bay Area California, San Diego or Seattle. Alternatively, anywhere in the US but ready to move to one of the preferred locations.
$50 – $75 an hour
The actual salary offer will be carefully considered based on a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
*Please note that the full base pay range for incumbent employees in this position can be expected to fall between $50/hour and $75 hour. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay overtime based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
