Description
We are seeking a hospitality professional to round out our phenomenal resort team and represent our Grand Pacific Resorts Accounting Department. The ideal candidate is vibrant, positive, energetic, and team-oriented and focused on achieving their personal goals.
The Senior Accountant ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. A Senior Accountant analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Prepares complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. In addition, Senior Accountant may supervise and guide lower-level accountants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Record all accounting related transactions to the general ledger.
- Verify accuracy of entries to the general ledger and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts.
- Compile financial data in the preparation of balance sheets, profit & loss and other financial reports in a timely manner
- Prepares and analyzes cash, revenue & expense forecasts
- Recommend ways to reduce cost and enhance revenue
- Assist in annual budget preparation
- Reconcile bank accounts and other key accounts monthly
- Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance
- Prepare and file state and local sales & occupancy tax returns
- Prepare documentation for external auditors
- Assist the Accounting Manager/ Controller/ CFO in conducting additional research and reporting tasks as needed
- Guide and assist staff accountants as needed
Qualifications

Must have strong financial competence
Must be able to perform in a highly confidential environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook & Accounting software programs
Great interpersonal, leadership and problem solving skills essential
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience
5-7 years of accounting experience required
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel preferred
Experience with property management/ POS software preferred .
