Zurich North America is looking for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our Technical Underwriting organization to help support the growth initiatives of the Life, Accident & Health (L A&H) Business Unit. While this position will be based out of either our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois, or our 4 WTC office in lower Manhattan we are offering the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely. You will collaborate with your manager to set a schedule that supports you, your customers, and the team.
The L A&H business unit helps protect our customers through accident, supplemental health, and life insurance solutions that strive to help solve the growing financial burden of healthcare for individuals and families.
As the Senior Actuarial Analyst, you will be responsible for the following:
- Support pricing and filing of new products and enhancements for the Life, Accident & Health Business unit. Products may include Group or Individual Accident & Health such as AD&D, Business Travel Accident, Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness, Supplemental Gap Medical or Occupational Accident/Gig Economy or Leisure Travel and/or Credit Card benefits
- Support in the completion of transaction pricing as requested by market facing underwriters
- Support in developing Dashboard to monitor portfolio
- Review of various price metrics and quarterly sign-off on Zurich rate change
Basic Qualifications:
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associates Degree
OR - Bachelor’s Degree
AND - Successful completion of 5 or more actuarial exams (applicable to FCAS/FSA designation or equivalent international certification) with 2 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area
OR - Successful completion of 3 or more actuarial exams (applicable to FCAS/FSA designation or equivalent international certification) with 3 or more years of experience in the Actuarial area.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ACAS/ASA Designation
- Experience on product development, pricing or reserving, filing, and experience monitoring
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to explain technical analysis results to non-technical audiences
The salary range for this role is $99,900 – $124,875. This is the range Zurich NA in good faith believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of the posting. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also bonus eligible. No amount is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
