Boeing’s Cruise Missile Systems (CMS) team in St. Charles, MO, is seeking an engineer to serve as the Agile Product Owner for Harpoon and Standoff Land Attack Missile – Expanded Response (SLAM-ER) Operational Flight Program (OFP) software development efforts. This position will focus on supporting the Space, Intelligence & Weapons software business organization. The engineer will work directly with external customers and the multi-discipline Boeing team to ensure that CMS software products satisfy customer requirements and are delivered on cost and schedule targets.
The Agile Product Owner will function as the project management lead , interacting with both product management and development teams closely. This engineer will guide the progress to completion and drive developers to deliver the expected results.

Position Responsibilities:
- Developing and prioritizing the software product backlog
- Leading agile sprint planning activities
- Establishing and maintaining software product roadmaps
- Serving as Boeing spokesperson for software efforts at customer meetings and design reviews
- Performing Cost Account Management (CAM) responsibilities using Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to achieve desired schedule and technical performance
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (St. Charles, MO)
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Required Qualifications: (Required Skills/ Experience)
- Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
- 3+ years of experience working in an Agile development environment.
- 3+ Years of experience developing & maintaining relationships & partnerships with senior leaders, customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners
- Ability to evangelize and advocate for the use of agile method and practices.
Preferred Qualifications: (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Experience as a Software Product Owner
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
- Experience with JIRA
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range: $122,400 – $165,600
