JOB SUMMARY
Working in collaboration with team members, designs, develops, and executes marketing materials that sustain the EAA brand; consistently and clearly communicating the EAA’s marketing objectives by creating and maintaining brand identity, positioning, and messaging through all digitally published and printed materials.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Working collaboratively, creates and executes brand awareness campaigns and internal and external communications collateral materials. Determines usage of final visual images and elements to effectively represent the EAA. Reviews and approves design, artwork, photography, and graphics developed for EAA programs and services. Meets with internal teams to develop an artistic approach and branded style in keeping with company vision. Provides art direction and graphic design, managing projects from concept and design to production and delivery. Maintains and upholds the EAA brand identity standards and guidelines. Provides accurate time and cost estimates for each project. Presents design work at various stages to internal staff for review and final approval. Directs and advises vendors on all technical visual recommendations and/or provides style guides and art files as necessary to contractors to communicate, foster, and maintain the EAA brand identity. Interfaces with printers and various external vendors. Attends press checks and art directs photo shoots as required. Works closely with web team to maintain website brand identity standards. Works under general supervision and direct guidance from the supervisor on matters related to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy positions. Work is generally independent and proceeds on own initiative while complying with policies, practices, processes, and procedures. Exercises discretion and independent judgment on significant matters. Refers more complex matters to the supervisor. Works collaboratively with others. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, advertising, public relations, marketing, or related field plus minimum of five years of relevant experience or master’s degree plus three years of relevant experience. Extensive knowledge of computer design programs. Basic website editing abilities. Extensive knowledge and expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, with emphasis on InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. Working knowledge of website design (HTML, WordPress, Drupal, etc.,) and motion graphics are desirable. Proven ability to present work and concepts to staff members. Must be a self-starter and proactively seek communication solutions to various problems. Besides being a graphics “rock star”, you must also be a creative thinker and execute solutions that break through the clutter. Must submit samples of work or link to online portfolio. Exceptional written, oral has a wide range of design capabilities and experience, with a working knowledge of visual communications, commercial art, print, digital, photography, branding and typography. Ability to work effectively with staff members and the public. Ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and responsibility. Knowledge of water resources preferred. Ability to interpret complex information into graphics and simple visual representations. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Job performance may require listening, seeing, sitting, talking; occasional reaching, grasping, lifting handling, pulling or pushing, balancing of items such as boxes of materials, books, etc. with weights not exceeding 25 pounds; limited walking, standing, stooping, and bending; some irregular hours and long workdays and moderate levels of stress. Job is performed primarily in an office environment with infrequent trips to other offices and limited exposure to weather conditions.
