The Boeing AvionX organization is seeking a Senior Digital Environments Engineer to support dynamic development environment for a fast-paced product development team in the greater Saint Louis area, of Hazelwood, MO. This position includes all aspects of digital environments management.
Who You Are
The successful candidate will have system administrator skills to provide hardware, middleware, application, and data layer support and be able to provide technical expertise in a variety of technologies to a multi-site program team. We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic and hands on in their approach, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Work duties to include:
Performs system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture. Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems. Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems. Administers user system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements. Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning.
Defines and validates requirements for new and revised engineering computing hardware. Researches, develops, analyzes, designs and tests software systems using engineering and scientific principles. Performs trade studies and other forms of analysis to formulate optimum solutions for users. Develops and deploys new or revised processes in support of new computing systems, including documentation and training. Troubleshoots user problems related to hardware, software or processes. Develops system integration strategies and architectures that promote use of common tools and processes. Facilitates integration of new technologies and the transition from legacy systems to support business requirements
Position Responsibilities:
Day to day support of over 20 infrastructure servers, 100 workstations and 100 users. This individual:
- Monitors and maintains the company computer systems, installs, and configures hardware and software, and solves technical issues as they arise.
- Administers the domain including group policy, server and workstation operating systems and software and account maintenance
- Installs, configures and maintains multiplatform systems hardware, software and components.
- Prepares release planning for software and hardware across the system.
- Evaluates complex system’s production readiness and supportability.
- Performs the restoration of routine to complex computing service operations.
- Integrates security solutions into information systems.
- Supports configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture.
- Provides problem resolution and technical support for delivery systems.
- Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of computing delivery systems.
- Administers user system access to meet security requirements.
- Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning.
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future. Note-the candidate selected for this position can anticipate working 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, weekly.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post-Start is required.
This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- Experience with hardware installation and troubleshooting
- Experience troubleshooting, researching and resolving technical issues involving integrated systems
- Experience resolving complex embedded software and software verifications issues that span functional domains, programs and business units
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or other similar degrees
- Working knowledge of Common Standalone Infrastructure (CSI)
- Experience with network installation, configuration and maintenance
- Experience with Operating systems Installation and configuration
- Hardware installation and management experience
- Domain management experience
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary Pay Plan: $112,200 – $151,800
